These are gorgeous! I always hear that LA is a cement city but your pictures always seem to prove otherwise. This simply goes to show that beauty can be seen when sought after and believed in. 🙂
I noticed that you've been discovering the light in your photos 🙂
They're more than photos. they're poems.
Those photographs are absolutely breathtaking! I was raised in Los Angeles where there were orange groves in town! Believe it or not, that is true. Even into the 80's there were neighborhoods being built where orange groves stood. Each spring, there was a lot of sneezin' goin' on!! HA! Orange blossoms are allergy's worst nightmare! What a memory. When I come home to visit my family who now live on the Central Coast of California, I am absolutely blown away by the beauty of the flowers. It does not matter what time of year, there is always something blooming and such color!! Wow! Here in East Texas, I miss the fabulous bird of paradise, the ice plant on the freeways, euchalyptus and the succulants that grow abundantly, but we have our own beauty here and at the "magic hour" each day, especially in the spring and summer, there is a time in the evening when the sun is dipping about an hour before dark. The oaks and cedars sparkle with a color unknown in the daytime and as the sun sinks, there is a smaller and smaller area with a definite line which rises higher and higher, and at the end of the show, a tiny sliver of sunshine that give the magic to the magic hour! I wait for it everyday. How good is our God to give us this awesome gift!! Thanks so much for sharing, Heather. You are always right on target, girl. While you live in the hustle and bustle, you still live in a paradise because you make it your own. Been to Olivera Street lately? Blessings, my friend.
To this resident of the cloudy Midwest, in L.A. every daylight hour seems a "magic hour".
Love this, Heather! and I, too, love the magic hour… but for me, it's always at sunset 🙂
